Because we consecrated our lives to Him before now; now we are pledging our incomes to his use. Make our incomes glory-driven!
Why use the language of "war"? Who is the enemy?
We are advocating reconsecration to a wartime lifestyle in order to overcome evil with good, especially by freeing up millions of dollars to overcome all kinds of evil. We are pointing to a war that is going on now, that threatens the planet. The Bible says, ‘The whole world lies under the power of the evil one.” (I John 5:14). We are pledging ourselves to a “wartime lifestyle”, in order to produce the instruments that will win the war. The Bible says, “The Son of God appeared in order to destroy the works of the devil” (I John 3:8). The works of the devil are evident all around us.

What are the works of the devil?
He is at work to ruin the human family. War, racism, oppression, divorce and a thousand other spectres haunt citizens of every city and adherents of every religion. The devil has done his most ruinous work in the Christian religion. More than others, Christians need reconsecration to a wartime lifestyle.
Disease is a work of the devil. Dr. Ralph D. Winter writes,
For years I became increasingly puzzled by the amount of pain, suffering, tragedy and death in the world. From the smallest animals to the largest, all seem to live lives fearful of predators whether animal or human or bacterial. Did God devise vicious animals, destructive parasites, and deadly germs?
Is this the good creation the Bible speaks of God creating?

The purpose of the wartime lifestyle is to send more resources—selected people and what they need—to the frontlines to destroy ever more diseases, demonic strongholds, and liberate more and more people from his tyranny. We pledge ourselves to a wartime lifestyle for a little while longer, until Jesus is glorified and there is peace on earth.

Where is your income needed most?
On the frontlines, where lives are at stake. Where there is no church. Among the unreached peoples. On the frontlines of curing diseases.
To whom should we give?

What is a peacetime lifestyle?
Look around you. Most evangelicals, like most North Americans, bargain with the Almighty to give him something back “in gratitude for all He has done” for me. That’s a peacetime lifestyle. Then most evangelicals, like most North Americans, do with their money what really interests them. At Reconsecration.org what really interests us is doing our part to win the enormous war by providing resources—people and what they need—to go to the frontlines.
Are the members of Reconsecration.org evangelicals?
First, we are biblical. Some of our best friends are evangelicals.
Are you saying that more money will win the war against evil?
By freeing up a lot more of your money, you can study where to make an enormous impact on the frontlines. But money not the most important value. Stay in the school of Jesus to get your values straight. First lesson: The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil (I Timothy 6:10).
What "wartime lifestyle" agency should we join?
Will you form a new one where you live? We have listed a few agencies which meet the standards of Reconsecration.org. We will list you if you form a new agency that meets the standards of Reconstructon.org.
Reconsecration is not simply about being generous. Lots of generous believers are spending much more on themselves than they need. God bless them! But generous believers do not qualify to join, unless they hear the king’s call to live on what they need and give the rest that they earn to where it is needed most.
This is not simply about tithing ten percent of one’s income. God bless tithing believers! But tithing believers do not qualify to join Reconsecration.org, unless they hear the king’s call to live on what they need and give the rest that they ear to where it is needed most.
How much income do we need for ourselves? Missionaries know how much income they need. They are held accountable to raise a support team that will donate what they need. We will match our income to a missionary’s income. We will live on the same income a missionary lives on.
Uh-oh. Don't missionaries live on less because they live in primitive conditions?
Not always. Missionaries in Japan live on more than missionaries in Sudan. The point is that missionaries live on what they need wherever they live.

Living a wartime lifestyle is not the same as living simply. The goal of living the wartime lifestyle is to free up enormous amounts of money to spend where needed most. In World War II the American public consumed a lot less gasoline, and rubber and cosmetics, and almost no nylons, in order to build the instruments of war that would defeat the enemy. So we need to pour in brand new resources to overcome evil with good in ways that we have not yet imagined.
What is the worst evil that we imagine could be overcome by freeing up enormous funds for the kingdom?
First, and always first, is to set the prisoners free. We are instruments of peace to our own families, our neighbors. We join a community of peacemakers (a church). But the greatest need is to send funds to begin the work of peacemaking in every ethnic people group. The task remaining is to begin the work of peacemaking in every ethnic people group. Until there is a peacemaking community in every ethnic people group, there are prisoners without hope (Ephesians 2:12).
